Fastest Employee on Skates!

Ashlee Jones, an 18-year old who works in Downtown Lancaster, recently achieved her personal dream of being accepted on to the Dutchland Derby Rollers, Lancaster’s premier women’s flat-track Derby League.

Ashlee is part of the huge roller derby comeback that’s sweeping the country.  It’s a DIY indie sport, and predominantly made up of women.  There are three teams in the Dutchland Roller’s League, and Ashlee’s next goal is to be placed on one of these teams.

Ashlee is stoked about this opportunity!  As she explains it, her world is basically three things: school (she’s a senior at Lancaster Catholic), Isaac’s (25 % Tron and 75% Deli), and roller derby.  She practices about five hours a week on her $275 skates.

Ashlee got into this sport because she likes to have fun, likes the exercise, and likes to go fast.  Her position is a blocker.  She tries to support her team’s jammer while, at the same time, blocking the opposition’s jammer.  She says it can be a little violent at times!

The Dutchland Rollers practice and have bouts at Overlook Skating Rink.  Ashlee says it’s a great spectator sport, and everyone should come to Overlook to see a bout.  The season runs from March through November and all the entrance fee money goes to charity.

Sounds like an Isaac’s night out to me!  Who’s up for it?

Do you know Isaac’s employee with secret passion?  , and let me know!
