Employee Volunteer of the Month

I'm pleased to announce our first employee Volunteer of the Month, Zachary Cole! He works in our West York Isaac’s.

Zac has been with Isaac’s since May 2007. He was originally hired to be trained as a deli worker (cooking sandwiches and all that stuff) but we soon realized that he’s just too busy volunteering in the community to receive further training, so he’s happy working at the take-out counter and doing dishes for us one or two days a week.

Zac’s community involvement is extensive. He is part of West York High School’s Marching Band and Jazz Band where he plays the sax. His church is training him to be a youth group cell leader where he will lead youth in discussing the weekly sermons and planning outreach programs to organizations such as York Rescue Mission and handing out water at charitable walks and runs.

Over the past two summers, Zac has been on mission trips to El Salvador where he worked with inner city kids at day programs, providing education, meals, and games.

Zac is a great kid and a shining example of the time that can be given to help others. I’m sure he will be the first to say he’s happy washing dishes at Isaac’s (and making a few bucks!) because it gives him more time to volunteer in the community and, in his case, in other parts of the world. If you happen to run in to Zac, shake his hand, and tell him "Good job."

Isaac’s is very proud to have Zachary Cole as our Volunteer of the Month. This is a new monthly program implemented by our employee-run Health and Wellness Committee to encourage volunteerism among our employees.
